Filipino boxer Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao must pay up US $30,000 (HK$234,000) within the next 15 days or he will be stripped of his World Boxing Council lightweight championship title he won against David Diaz.
The sanctioning body’s governors, are meeting in Chengdu, China and are demanding the fighter pay his sanctioning fees they claim he owes, or they will take his belt.
On June 28, 2008, Manny Pacquiao defeated champion David Diaz to capture the WBC world lightweight title, the event took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and the NBA champion Boston Celtics were in attendance at Pacquiao’s request.
