Former featherweight world kingpin Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is dropping down to 140 pounds after going all the way to 147 pounds to defeat Oscar De La Hoya in a David vs. Goliath match.
At the light welterweight division he is still going to be undersized as he takes on the lineal champion Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas.
HBO 24/7 will air a 4 part documentary that follows the championship fighters around as the prepare for the super-fight on May 2, 2009
Since losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr at welterweight, Hatton decided to go back to his natural weight division where he has yet to taste defeat, he reigned in the 140 pound class and was crowned king after retiring Kostya Tszyu in a huge upset victory.
With Mayweather Sr. as his trainer he was able to box more intelligently and TKO the slick Italian talker Paulie Malignaggi in his last fight.
Pacquiao is headed by the great Freddie Roach who has bad blood with Mayweather Sr., they do not like each other at all and it would be interesting to see the trash talk between the two elder boxing masters.
Hatton and his team will train in the UK and head to Las Vegas for the majority of their camp, Pacquiao as usually will head to the famous Wild Card boxing gym in Hollywood and head to Vegas on fight week.
