Many young boxers dream of headlining a big fight in Las Vegas or New York’s Madison Square Garden, which is regarded as the “Mecca of boxing”. Even established foreign champions such as King Arthur Abraham share this dream. During the Abraham vs. Taylor conference call, Armenian boxer Arthur Abraham said “I want to make the really big fight in America. I want to win the title and have a big fight like Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya in the States because I love America and it’s my goal to make a big fight like in Las Vegas or Madison Square Garden in New York. The Super Six Tournament will only help me get that big fight in America”.
Arthur Abraham (30-0-24 KOs) takes on Jermain Taylor (28-3-1-17 KOs) at the 02 World Arena in Berlin, Germany. The co-feature will be a bout between two unbeaten rising stars, Carl Froch (25-0-20 KOs) of Nottingham, England an Andre Dirrell (18-0- 13 KOs) of Flint, Michigan. The Froch vs. Dirrell bout will air from a separate venue at Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, England. The double feature airs on Saturday, Oct. 17, (8 p.m. ET/PT) on SHOWTIME. These fights will be the first two elimination bouts in the Super Six World Boxing Classic Tournament, the two winners advance in the bracket. The SHOWTIME “Super Six World Boxing Classic” will help determine who the best super middleweight in the world is.
