Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is in the later stages of training for his Nov. 14th fight against Miguel Cotto, but that didn’t hold him back from discussing the topic of a possible Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout.
A super fight between him and Floyd Mayweather Jr., should Pacman get past Miguel Cotto seems like the most logic next step for both fighters, but Pacman seems bleak on the possibility.
“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Pacquiao told the Canadian Press. “I’m sure he(Mayweather Jr.) doesn’t want to fight.”
Many in the boxing industry, fans included have claimed Floyd Mayweather Jr. only wants to fight big money fights with the least risk involved, instead of giving the fans the exciting match ups they want to see.
Pacquiao shares the same feelings, “Boxing for him (Mayweather) is like a business,” said Pacquiao “He doesn’t care about the people around him watching. He doesn’t care if the fight is boring, as long as the fight is finished and he gets (plenty of) money…. I want people to be happy. You have a big responsibility as a boxer.”
Manny Pacquiao will take on arguably the toughest test of his career in WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, the fight will be at a catch-weight of 145lbs and will be aired live on HBO PPV, Nov. 14.
HBO 24/7 Pacquiao/Cotto continues on for another 3 episodes, the 2nd installment will air Halloween night Oct. 31 and the final episode will air on Friday the 13th, the day before the fight.
