This bout will be the final fight of the first round of Showtime’s Super Six World Boxing Classic Tournament.
Denmark’s own Mikkel Kessler (42-1, 32 KOs) will be putting his WBA super middleweight(168lbs) belt on the line when he takes on undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward (20-0, 13 KOs) of Oakland, California.
Many boxing pundits picked Kessler as the favorite to win the tournament. Kessler’s only lost was to undefeated Welsh boxer Joe Calzaghe, while Andre Ward is undefeated. This will be Ward’s toughest test as a pro.
