The boxing super fight of the century looks to be headed in a positive direction. In an article by ESPN Dan Rafael, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has agreed to the terms for the Pacquiao fight. According to Rafael’s sources the fight will be at 147 lbs the welterweight limit, it will air on March 13 HBO PPV with a venue still yet to be named, possible candidates are Las Vegas, Dallas Cowboys stadium and New Orleans Superdome.
Bob Arum is flying out to the Philippines to talk with Manny Pacquiao and finalize the deal. The fight date was part of the problem because on May 1st which was the first choice for the HBO PPV, on that date Pacquiao would be busy with his congressional campaign and it would be too close to the May 10 elections. Pacquiao already had a date scheduled for March 13 with HBO so that date was available.
Everything is just speculation from sources close to the situation, but if this fight gets made it would be the most lucrative boxing match of recent years, many are predicting it to break the current pay per view record of 2.4 million buys set by Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
