Haitian-American and WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto has canceled his January 30th HBO boxing match with Sugar Shane Mosley due to emotional grief from the devastating earthquake disaster in Haiti that took the lives of many and left countless people homeless.
“As a result of this disaster I am mentally and physically exhausted and therefore I have no choice but to withdraw from my bout on January 30,” expressed the undefeated WBC champion Andre Berto.
The cancellation of the Berto Vs. Mosley fight now leaves Floyd Mayweather Jr. with a viable replacement opponent in Shane Mosley.
Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao went there separate ways after failing to compromise on blood drug testing for their proposed super fight scheduled for March 13, 2010.
Pacquiao will face African boxer Joshua Clottey while Floyd Mayweather Jr. opponent is not yet known.
