Filipino WBO welterweight champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will be heading over to Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California next week to train for his upcoming fight in March.
Freddie Roach told FightHype that the Pacman will arrive early to train for his March HBO fight, opponent has yet to be announced.
The opponent was supposed to be Floyd Mayweather Jr. until the fight fell apart due to USADA Olympic style drug testing demands from Team Mayweather, particularly randomized blood testing which would take place from the start of training camp and up till the day of the fight. Pacquiao and his camp didn’t agree with the stipulations and the fight was called off by Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum.
Arum is now looking to make a fight between Jewish WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman and Manny Pacquiao for either March 13 or March 20 at the Thomas and Mack in Las Vegas, Nevada.
If Pacquiao takes on the Jewish boxing champion he will be campaigning for his 8th world title at a different weight class.
After his March boxing match, Pacquiao will focus on his political aspirations and run for a political seat in the Philippines, the elections are in May.
