Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions presents “Top Rank Live” Vanes Martirosyan (26-0, 17 KOs) vs. Kassim “The Dream” Ouma (26-1, 16 KOs) Tonight Jan. 16, 2010 at 10pm ET/PT at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, Nevada on FOX Sports en Espanol and Fox Sports Net.
The Vanes Martirosyan Vs. Kassim Ouma card is the first in Top Rank’s new TV agreement with Fox Sports Net to host a series of boxing matches on the network titled “Top Rank Live”.
Martirosyan is of Armenian decent and represented the United States of America at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece for boxing. Vanes is an undefeated 154 pound boxer who is trained by the legendary trainer Freddie Roach, Roach is most famous for training pound for pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.
In addition to Freddie Roach, Vanes works with Alex Ariza at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, Ariza is the conditioning coach for Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan.
Kassim Ouma is a former IBF junior middleweight title holder from Uganda, Africa. Ouma has been on the decline and is looking at this fight with Vanes as an opportunity to bounce back and go back on the road to the top.
Ouma is also featured in a documentary on his life titled “Kassim the Dream” it documents the tough child hood of Ouma after getting kidnapped at 6 years old to serve as a child soldier in the National Resistance Army to his rise in boxing.
