Former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski will participate in a four- round charity exhibition boxing match against Puerto Rican heavyweight boxer “Fast’ Fres Oquendo on Feb. 27 in Miami.
The boxing match is for the “The Consequence Charity” of Miami (www.theblacksannualgala.org) aimed at reducing adolescent criminal behavior.
Arlovski is no stranger to boxing, he was trained by Manny Pacquiao’s hall of fame trainer, Freddie Roach, and has spent extensive time training boxing with Mike Garcia who trains former WBC lightweight champion David Diaz of Chicago.
Andrei Arlovski caught the eye of Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions in 2009 and signed him to a multi-fight boxing contract right away.
Arlovski is 31 years old, and has yet to fight his pro debut but plans on making that pro boxing debut for Golden Boy Promotions sometime in the summer of 2010 after fighting a few more MMA fights first.
Andrei is still hoping for rematches with Strikeforce fighters Brett Rogers, and Fedor Emelianenko, both beat Arlovski by knockout in the first round.
