Top Rank Promoter, Bob Arum, believes if Kelly Pavlik successfully defends his WBC,WBO Middleweight titles against Sergio Martinez on April 17, a possible main event headlined by the Youngstown native could take place at Cowboys Stadium, aka Jerry’s (Jones) World.
According to a report by Joe Scalzo of the Vindicator, during the Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey fight, Bob Arum and Jerry Jones talked about having Pavlik headline a boxing card at the $1.2 billion dollar stadium.
“Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys owner)was very impressed when he met Kelly, and he told me he’s looking forward to Kelly fighting a main event in Cowboys stadium,” said Arum. “When I mentioned it to Kelly, his eyes opened wide.”

The first boxing match held at the brand new facility was the Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey WBO welterweight title bout, the event drew 50,944 fight fans to the stadium and 700,000 HBO pay-per-view buys.
Arum believes that Pavlik could do good numbers, not 50,000 that Manny Pacquiao did but around 40,000 fans, with the right opponent and a strong Hispanic under-card.
“Kelly, on his own, couldn’t do 40,000 in Cowboys Stadium,” Arum said. “But north Texas has a huge Hispanic population.
“With a strong Hispanic fighter, he could do 40,000.”
Kelly Pavlik’s next fight will take place at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on April 17 against Argentinean boxer Sergio Martinez. Pavlik vs. Martinez will be part of an HBO double header card, featuring an IBF super-middleweight title fight, Lucian Bute vs. Edison Miranda.
