“King” Arthur Abraham will start off Stage 2 of the Super Six World Boxing Classic on SHOWTIME when he faces Andre “The Matrix” Dirrell at Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, March 27, 2010, live on SHOWTIME at 10:30PM ET/PT (tape delayed on the west coast)
Armenian-born, German fighter Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs) became the current tournament points leader when he scored a knockout victory over Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor on Oct. 17, 2009.
Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KOs) from Flint, Michigan lost a close 12-round split decision in Group Stage 1 to defending WBC 168 pound champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch in Nottingham, England, Froch’s hometown.
This time around Andre Dirrell will have the hometown crowd on his side when he fights King Arthur in Detroit, Michigan. This will be Abraham’s second fight in the US.
