David “Haymaker” Haye (23-1, 21 KO’s) will defend his WBA title belt for the first time when he takes on former 2-time WBA heavyweight champion John “The Quiet man” Ruiz (44-8-1, 30 KO’s) on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the M.E.N Arena, Manchester, England.
David Haye is the first British heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis and looks to make a statement against John Ruiz on Saturday night. John Ruiz was the first and only Latino to hold the heavyweight title and looks to be a 3-time champion by pulling the upset against Haye.
The heavyweight title fight will not be broadcast on American TV but those lucky enough to get British cable channels Sky Box Office and Sky Box Office HD can witness the Haye vs. Ruiz fight.
