According to Bradley’s promoter Gary Shaw, Judah is ducking Bradley. Shaw told Boxingscene.com that he contacted Zab Judah and his father Yoel Judah to see if Zab would be willing to take a fight with WBO light-welterweight champion, Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley on HBO July 17.
Shaw said Yoel told him he would get back to him but never did. Bradley is currently looking for an opponent since his scheduled opponent Marcos Maidana pulled out of the fight citing pre-existing back injuries.
Zab Judah told Shaw he is scheduled to fight a tune-up fight at the Prudential center on July 16 and cannot fight Bradley. Shaw doesn’t buy it and believes Judah is ducking his fighter and said once Judah passes up on this fight he will never get another chance at Bradley.
The 140-pound division is stacked with top level young fighters. Currently, Amir Khan the WBA 140-pound champ will fight Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday May 15, on HBO and on the undercard features another light-welterweight star Victor Ortiz fighting former lightweight champ Nate Campbell.
