On Saturday the 8th of May 2010 on HBO we will be privileged to another spirited boxing match-up between Paul “The Punisher” Williams and Kermit “The Killer” Cintron. When read, the monikers, “The Punisher!” – “The Killer” it kind of makes you cautious about being witness to this event. I mean after all someone could get killed or someone could be punished. It doesn’t sound good for either guy.

The last time Kermit did anything akin to Killing in the ring goes back to November 08, Jesse Feliciano, 12 rounds, at the Staples Center in L.A.. It took “The Killer” 10 rounds to get the TKO win from a guy that was 15-5-3. I guess you could say that Cintron killed him. But since then “The Killer” hasn’t been much of a killer and the record tells the tale. To date Kermit has had 5 fights with 4 decisions and one loss. The Asesino, as they
like to call him in the Latin world went the full 12 rounds 3 times, 5 rounds of 10 for a win and 6 rounds of 12 for a loss. Hum? Is it just me?
Is it even any better for “The Punisher!”? Yea it is, kinda. “The Punisher is on a 5 fight win streak, 3 wins by TKO and 2 wins by decision. The decision wins (2) have taken him the full 12 rounds for victory and the TKOs were kinda quick I guess, 2 first round knockouts and 8 boring rounds to get Verno Phillips, the Old-Pro. It sounds impressive but I don’t know if the competition had anything left to give the sport of boxing. You can argue that Carlos Quintana is pretty good and he did punish The Punisher for 12 rounds in route to a UD win. OK, but did you see the rematch. Old Winky Wright was on the list of wins, Old Verno Phillips, and who is Andy Kolle? The toughest guy on the list is Sergio Martinez, the middleweight champ. Yeah, the guy that just beat Kelly Pavlik, it went 12 rounds, some say Paul lost, Sergio is pretty good.
It looks as if these two are pretty evenly matched; it really does, on paper. In reality Paul will out work Kermit. Paul will use his reach and pretty much score at will. The Punisher enjoys a 4” reach advantage on each arm, its 8” from end to end. Paul is use to working hard, throwing punches in bunches and taking a few on the chin. It happens in every fight he has. Paul takes a few on the chin. I expect to see lots of punching and some good exchanges. You don’t have to look for Paul, he’s right there and that might not be good for “The Killer”, as a matter of fact I think “The Killer” will be punished.
Paul 116 – Kermit 112, knockout if Kermit is not in shape to go 12 rounds.
(Note: On Saturday, May 8th, 2010 watch Paul “The Punisher” Williams vs. Kermit “The Killer” Cintron on HBO along with the replay of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Sugar Shane Mosley.)
