Former world boxing champion, Felix “Tito” Trinidad, thinks fellow Puerto Rican, Miguel Cotto, will become a three division world boxing champion come June 5th, when Cotto faces WBA 154-pound champion Yuri Foreman at the new Yankee stadium in New York.
Tito Trinidad told El Nuevo Dia that even though Yuri Foreman is a good fighter, he believes that Miguel Cotto will stronger than him and win the fight becoming another Puerto Rican to win a boxing world title in three weight divisions.
If Miguel Cotto wins against Foreman, he would be in line for a rematch with Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao should the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. negotiations turn sour again and the super-fight doesn’t get made.
Another lucrative option for Cotto is a rematch against the first man to stop him, disgraced Mexican boxer, Antonio Margarito. A rematch would stir up a strong boxing rivalry with Puerto Rico vs. Mexico and it would give Cotto a chance to redeem his questionable loss to Margarito, whom many believe could have been using loaded gloves during his fight with Cotto.
Miguel Cotto vs. Yuri Foreman airs live on HBO June 5th from Yankee Stadium in New York.
