By Superstar Billy Graham
It is all over the internet, Floyd Mayweather Jr made an unofficial retirement from boxing. Isn’t it ironic that Floyd Mayweather Jr picks his timing right exactly at the time Manny Pacquiao receives his awards for Fighter of the Year and Fighter of the Decade. The Superstar has already said from the beginning, we should not be so surprised Floyd Jr is retiring. Floyd Jr did the same exact thing when he was scheduled to a rematch against Oscar De La Hoya. Although The Superstar has not totally closed the door on the possibility this is all a Floyd ploy, these games Floyd Jr constantly plays is like the boy crying wolf. We can never take Floyd seriously, even with Make A Wish recipient Armando Carral. The Superstar hopes Floyd Jr was not using Armando Carral as part of a ploy to hype the fight with Manny Pacquiao. Tasteless wouldn’t be the word. The last thing Floyd Jr should be doing is using a boy who has cancer as part of pawn to gain an edge on the negotiations. The Superstar thinks even Floyd would not stoop to this low level.
Manny Pacquiao receiving his awards for Fighter of the Year and Fighter of the Decade has already cemented his legacy for which ironically Floyd Jr doesn’t value. Floyd Jr has said it himself “remember this legacy don’t pay bills”. When Floyd Jr was told he should care about his legacy Floyd made a simple answer “I don’t give F**K”(his legacy). It is interesting when the Floyd fanatics are batting for Floyd Jr and making bold statements saying Floyd Jr is the true Fighter of the Decade. Why would they care since Floyd Jr has made crystal clear he doesn’t give a damn of his legacy or more accurately “I don’t give a F**K”.
Since Floyd has made this unofficial announcement of his retirement from the sport of boxing. The Superstar will now give Floyd Jr his just rewards. Boxing Writers of America Association (BWAA) should have another award presented to a fighter. Befitting Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd Jr will be the first recipient of this award. It is Boxing Writers of America Association Fighter of the Duckade.
