Boxing will be back at New York Yankee stadium on June 5th for the first time in over 30 years when former welterweight champion from Puerto Rico, Miguel Cotto, challenges Jewish WBA 154-lb champion, Yuri Foreman on HBO.
Cotto is coming off a devastating loss to Filipino slugger Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and since then he has hired legendary boxing trainer Emanuel Steward to work his corner. Cotto is in a must win situation if he loses he won’t be relevant in boxing and will become a gate keeper, if he wins he would be on the road to comeback glory.
Yuri Foreman is undefeated and on the biggest stage of his career headlining his very first main event and for it to be at the brand new Yankee Stadium in New York can be overwhelming. Foreman has the chance to make a name for himself if he beats Cotto and other lucrative options will be available for him in the future.
Watch HBO boxing Yuri Foreman vs. Miguel Cotto on June 5, 2010 at 10:15 pm ET/ 7:15 pm PT at New York Yankees stadium only on HBO.
