Ever search for videos of Manny Pacquiao on YouTube? Ever notice the comments left on the videos and how the majority of Manny Pacquiao fans are vulgar, talk a lot of crap and curse a lot? This baffles me.
It baffles me because Manny Pacquiao is the complete opposite of his fans. He is humble, reserved and feels bad if he hurts someones feelings, his fans on the other hand, are brash, some are even racist, and they seem to be very hostile with a chip on their shoulders.
I guess in this case opposites do attract.
I find it strange that such a humble boxer and good natured man attracts such vulgar audiences. Maybe it’s because of his violent fighting style. Pacquiao fights like a pitbull, who sees blood and cannot get enough, maybe that is why these sadists gravitate towards him.
I want to give an example of a famous Pacman fan, UFC president Dana White, is a hardcore Manny Pacquiao fan, and if you’ve watched his videos on YouTube or some of his candid interviews, the man cusses and seems so angry all the time, he even bashes Floyd Mayweather Jr. but praises Manny Pacquiao like crazy. White is brash and vulgar but yet he is drawn to a humble and reserved fighter in Manny Pacquiao….very strange.
I can’t really figure out why such vulgar characters latch onto Manny when he is nothing like them.
Usually, when someone is a fan of a famous athlete or fighter, they see something in that famous person that they see in themselves and they gravitate towards that person more than other athletes but in Manny Pacquiao’s case, the majority of his fans don’t seem to share the same personality traits that the Pacman does. These certain Pacquiao fans seem like the type who come from the street, have a gangster tough guy mentality and enjoy street activities.
They particularly dislike Floyd Mayweather Jr. and many times they call him a pussy or coward, they’ve been leaving vulgar comments and making videos ever since Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao negotiations fell apart the first time.
I wanna know why these so called Pacquiao fans react so aggressively in defense of Manny Pacquiao? What is it about Manny Pacquiao that attracts them because they don’t seem to have anything in common.
