Saturday night, July 17, 2010, HBO showcases another great boxing card headlined by two undefeated young fighters, Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley (25-0, 11 KO’s) vs. Luis Carlos Abregu (29-0, 23 KO’s) and a co-feature bout Alfredo Angulo vs Joachim Alcine.
Bradley is the current 140 pound champion and is testing the waters at 147 pounds against the formidable power punching Abregu from Argentina who is also undefeated. Bradley looks to make a statement tonight and wants to fight the biggest names in boxing from Floyd Mayweather Jr. to Manny Pacquiao. But Abregu is a dangerous and unknown opponent who could derail those plans for Bradley.
On the undercard is 154 pound Jr. middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo fighting Canadian boxer Joachim Alcine in a classic brawler vs. boxer match up. Angulo is a pressure fighter and brawler who likes to wear his opponents down and take them out in the later rounds while Alcine is a mover and likes to pick his opponent apart with counters and doesn’t get over aggressive.
The HBO B.A.D (Boxing after dark) event will take place at Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA. You can watch it live on HBO at 9:45 PM ET/PT.
