The official weigh-ins for the most anticipated heavyweight fight, UFC 116: “Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin” will be held today July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC 116 marks the return of UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, the former WWE pro wrestler, is coming back from suffering an intestinal disorder called diverticulitis, the illness was so severe that under first examination the doctors thought it would be career ending. Brock underwent surgery and made a full recovery, he is now back and claims to be stronger than ever.
Brock’s opponent, Shane Carwin, is the UFC interim heavyweight champion and was first scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar at UFC 106 but Lesnar came down with an illness sidelining him. Now, the two heavyweight titans will finally meet in the octagon, Carwin is considered by many to be Brock Lesnar’s toughest test yet.
