Forget Mayweather. I can’t wait for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight!

Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao fights again on November 13, 2010, and it looks like his next opponent is going to be Antonio Margarito at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

It’s not the super fight we’ve all been waiting for, but  it’s Manny Pacquiao for crying out loud! The most exciting action fighter since Mike Tyson.

I never miss a Pacquiao fight. Ever since I saw him beat up Erik Morales in their third fight, I instantly fell in love with the fighter. He always enters the ring with a huge smile on his face like a child going to Disneyland, but once he enters that ring he is all business and fights like a tiger.

But something has been bugging me lately.

Some people are making videos on YouTube and saying things on boxing forums that we should boycott the Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito fight. I noticed these people aren’t even fans of Manny Pacquiao and don’t even orders his fights anyway. I never understood how anyone couldn’t be a fan of Pac-Man (maybe their favorite fighter lost to Manny and they are bitter over it or they lost a lot of money betting against Pacquiao).

Why should we boycott Pacquiao’s fight but not Mayweather’s?  When it’s Mayweather’s fault the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao super fight isn’t happening. It’s because Mayweather chickened out and decided to take a vacation. Manny called him out and Floyd still hasn’t released any statement to the media. I bet Mayweather is hoping that Manny Pacquiao loses to Margarito or looks like crap before he considers facing the Pac-Man in the ring.

I guess they want to punish Manny Pacquiao because Floyd chickened out? That makes no sense at all.  You can find old videos on YouTube with boxing elitists saying boycott Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto because it is at a catch-weight, boycott Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey because Pacquiao didn’t take the blood tests and now some people are making new videos saying boycott Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito because Margarito loaded his gloves and doesn’t deserve a shot.

How come when Floyd fought Sugar Shane Mosley no one made videos saying boycott Floyd Mayweather vs. Mosley because Shane Mosley is a known cheater, who admitted to taking steroids?  Margarito and Mosley were cheating and could have seriously hurt someone in the ring, but no one was saying boycott Mosley vs. Mayweather, it’s a bit one sided.

As a fan, I am not going to deprive myself from witnessing the greatness of Manny Pacquiao. Fighters like Manny Pacquiao come along once in a generation and when you have the opportunity to watch him, you should take full advantage of it.
