Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com that he fully expects Antonio Margarito will be licensed in the state of Texas and the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Margarito will take place at the Dallas Cowboys stadium on November 13.
Arum said the press tour announcing the fight will begin next week and travel to 3 destinations, Los Angeles first, then New York and last Dallas.
The fight will probably be broadcast on HBO Pay-per-view and will have an HBO 24/7 series leading up to the Pacquiao vs. Margarito showdown.
In other news, Floyd Mayweather’s vacation seems to be over and he is going to announce his next fight soon. Mayweather used the excuse that he was on vacation and not thinking about a Pacquiao fight at the time. Floyd never answered the challenge issued by Manny Pacquiao and refused to speak to the media concerning the situation.
According to Robin Leach in his Las Vegas Weekly blog he was given the information over the weekend personally by Floyd Mayweather Jr. himself. The two bet on horse races at the Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego, California and mingled with fans.
Floyd told Leach that he was getting ready to fight again but didn’t give a specific opponent, just that the fight will be held in Dubai.
“We’ll announce it all very soon,” Floyd said of his next fight.
“But this time it won’t be in Vegas. It will be in another desert kingdom: Dubai.”
Boxing fans are still awaiting on Floyd Mayweather to publicly address the media on why the Pacquiao fight fell through and if he has signed with Don King. Remember, Floyd is a master of keeping people in suspense and this is a prime example.
