Boxers Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez are set to have a rematch on HBO, November 20, 2010 a week after the November 13 HBO PPV fight of Manny Pacquiao vs. Margarito at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
Williams won the first match-up with Martinez in 2009 by majority decision, the fight was considered by many boxing enthusiasts as the 2009 “Fight of the Year.” Sergio Martinez went on to fight for the WBC and WBO middleweight titles against Kelly Pavlik and won a unanimous decision against the tough Youngstown native–many boxing analysts predicted Pavlik would defeat the Argentinian fighter.
Martinez will defend his WBC middleweight (160 lbs) title at an agreed upon catchweight of 157 lbs, requested by Paul Williams and his camp, the fight will take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey and broadcast live on HBO.
Both fighters are hoping a win on November 20 would lead them to bigger and better fights, such as a fight with either Manny Pacquiao, should he get past Antonio Margarito on November 13, or Floyd Mayweather Jr., if he avoids jail time for his alleged assault case.
