After watching that one punch knockout of Paul Williams by Sergio Martinez on HBO World Championship Boxing, you have to be wondering what’s going on in Floyd Mayweather Jr’s head right now, more importantly what’s going on in Floyd Mayweather Sr’s head?
If you thought Floyd Mayweather’s dad feared for his son’s life against Manny Pacquiao after his beatdown of Antonio Margarito, what do you think he thinks about middleweight champ Sergio Martinez fighting his son? Martinez just crossed himself off the list of possible Mayweather opponents with his sensational win over Kelly Pavlik and last nights KO of Paul Williams.
Martinez like Manny Pacquiao doesn’t meet the criteria for possible Mayweather opponents, they are simply too good, and too much of a threat to Mayweather’s coveted undefeated record.
Both Martinez and Pacquiao share common qualities that give Floyd Mayweather fits; Pacquiao and Martinez are Southpaws [Floyd Sr. has said in the past he prays for his son to never fight a southpaw], they are both slick and awkward, both have knockout power, both have excellent footwork, both have fast hands and punch from odd angles, and both have incredible stamina.
I predict Floyd Mayweather won’t be done with vacation until Manny Pacquiao or Sergio Martinez lose, look like complete crap in their next fights or retire.
