The WBA heavyweight champion David Haye made a statement Saturday night at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England when he knocked out his “Best Enemy” Olympic boxing gold medalist Audley Harrison in the third round of their 12-round title fight.
Haye and Harrison started out slow for the first two rounds which were more of feeling out rounds, Haye won both rounds by landing right hands on Harrison. Harrison despite all the talk of being hungry to accomplish his life long goal of winning the heavyweight championship belt, looked like a man who wasn’t even in the fight. Harrison didn’t even bother throwing anything and was more of a punching bag.
In the third round Haye rocked Harrison and went in for the kill dropping him twice before the referee stopped the fight at 1:53 while Harrison was standing and rocked from a Haye right hand haymaker punch.
The fight that the boxing public wants to see is a unification match-up between the other heavyweight title holders Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.
A David Haye vs. Wladimir Klitschko fight would be the biggest heavyweight boxing match up in many years, it is a fight that boxing needs to help bring more interest to the dull heavyweight division in boxing.
In his post fight interview, David Haye promised the fans that he would fight the Klitschko brothers next and guarantees he will knock them out.
