Tonight on HBO World Championship Boxing, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan of Bolton England will defend his title against the hardest puncher at 140 pounds, Marcos Rene Maidana, of Argentina.
Khan has been on a roll not losing a fight since getting with Freddie Roach after his devastating first round knockout loss to Breidis Prescott in 2008. Khan who is also a devout Muslim of Pakistani decent wants to be a positive role model and image for Islam and show people that not all Muslims are like the media present them to be. World class trainer Freddie Roach calls Amir Khan his best student and the next Manny Pacquiao. Roach also said Khan is the only fighter who can get the best of Manny Pacquiao when they spar. Khan will take on the heavy hitting Marcos Maidana who is best known for his TKO win over rising star Victor Ortiz in 2009. Victor Ortiz will also be fighting on the card as the co-feature versus Lamont Peterson in a 140 pound non title fight.
