With Manny Pacquiao fighting 6 more times before he calls it quits, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. nowhere to be found, there will be plenty of available opponents for the Pacman to pick from.
The first order of business is Manny Pacquiao must get by the always dangerous Sugar Shane Mosley on May 7th, after that I would like for him to fight WBC champ Andre Berto to unify the Welterweight belts.
If Andre Berto and Manny don’t fight, I would like to see Ricardo Mayorga versus Manny Pacquiao if Mayorga beats Miguel Cotto on March 12th. If Mayorga defeats Cotto and wins the WBA Jr. Middleweight title he can have a unification bout for Pacman’s WBC Jr. Middleweight title.
A Pacquiao vs. Mayorga fight will be an entertaining fight and I would love to see Ricardo Mayorga trash talking on HBO 24/7 and get a glimpse into the wild man’s life.
Mayorga can really hype and build up a fight with his trash talking and we have never seen Manny Pacquiao pair up with someone who will insult him during a press conference and try to get in his head. I could only imagine Mayorga bringing up stuff like Pacquiao’s dad eating his dog, and taking other personal shots at Manny, maybe saying he might sleep with Jinkee so she can be with a real man, and we could see how Manny handles Mayorga’s brash words.
It would be interesting to see how Manny handles Mayorga’s antics because Manny is usually paired up with nice guys that don’t trash talk like Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosley.
I think it would be a perfect match-up that would get a lot of casual fans interested because Ricardo Mayorga is a shameless villain and Pacman is the beloved good guy.
The fight would sell big on HBO pay per view and has the makings of another entertaining fight that fans will enjoy watching.
