I love the sport of boxing and I am embarrassed to see so many of my fellow Filipinos leaving so many ignorant comments on internet forums. This message I am delivering is directed towards a certain group of Filipino Manny Pacquiao fans. This is not intended for the normal respectable Filipino Pacquiao fan like myself and millions of other Filipino boxing fans who has class.
It seems to me that these extreme Pacquiao fans don’t realize or think before they speak on the subject of boxing (Mangyaring malaman ang tungkol sa boxing). Everything that comes out of their “bibig” (mouth), has to do with Manny Pacquiao being the greatest or an insult to black people and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I even see so many of them who has the nerves to insult fellow Filipino boxers that are not as successful as Manny Pacquiao by calling them bums, tuk tuk drivers or nobody.
How can they be so hurtful and negative to our countryman? Just because Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista, AJ “Bazooka” Banal or Bernabe Concepcion loss doesn’t make them a bum or shameful, why will you spit on them while they are down? Who are you to say these insults to someone who fights in the ring and risk their life to put food on the table? How would you like it if you lost your job and instead of people helping you or encouraging you they kick dirt in your face and slam the door on you?
This is not proper! You know, not everyone can be as good as Manny Pacquiao, not just Filipinos, but from any nationality you cannot find another fighter like Manny Pacquiao because he is truly one in a million. So, why will you put pressure and spit on these Filipino boxers that are trying to live up to the pressure of being the next Manny Pacquiao?
Be proud of them for giving a valiant effort in the boxing ring. Be proud of Pinoy boxers for giving it a try even in defeat they gave their all in there. Stop being so hateful and negative! We have to stop this crab mentality already. Those who have nothing but negative things to say are always the ones that are angry and disappointed with their own lives because they feel like a failure themselves so they say negative things behind a computer to make them feel better.
Some Filipinos need to be more helpful to one another instead of this competing and attacking each other when they are down, we must show support, because when someone is down that is when they need our help the most. Tayo ng suporta Filipino boxers.
