I have nothing against Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao as a human being, but I really can’t help but root for the underdog Shane Mosley when he takes on the Pacman.
I feel that if Mosley knocks out Manny Pacquiao on May 7th it will shut up and humble some of these loud and obnoxious Pacfans, that spew garbage and brag about their fighter like he is invincible.
Mosley is old and past his prime, but every aging fighter has that one last hurrah where they can put on a great performance. This could be Shane’s last great performance. Everyone, including myself, is counting Shane Mosley out. Shane will either be more hungry to prove everyone wrong and fight his heart out against Manny Pacquiao or prove us right that he is a shot old fighter if Manny beats him.
Again, this is nothing against Pacquiao, but, he doesn’t deserve a single ounce of credit if he defeats Shane Mosley even if it’s by knockout because we all expected that to happen. I mean how hard is it for someone to beat up on an old past their prime fighter?
If Mosley beats Manny Pacquiao, his legacy will be solidified and he would put a stop to the media hyped Manny Pacquiao for good.
It would make a lot of the real boxing fans smile seeing Mosley expose Manny Pacquiao for the carefully promoted fighter he is.
But the most satisfying feeling would be shutting these Pacfans mouths. These Pacquiao fans that talked so much crap against me and other boxing writers like they know everything will eat crow.
Mosley will gladly serve them up a slice of humble pie on May 7, 2011. And all the hardcore boxing fans will rejoice.
