Juan Manuel Marquez is afraid to fight anyone at the Jr. Welterweight division and chooses to remain in his hiding hole at the Lightweight division. That hiding hole is no longer safe for Marquez. Brandon Rios has crawled inside Marquez’s hiding hole and is in the process of flushing him out.
Marquez gladly fought the burned out Juan Diaz twice, and happily accepted to fight the utterly one dimensional and totally predictable Michael Katsidis. But Marquez will Burrough deeper into his hiding hole and hide from Brandon Rios. So what will Marquez do next?
Marquez thinks and hopes he will be the next high paid victim of Manny Pacquiao. If Marquez talks right, acts nice, and a doesn’t have a brain fart by demanding what he should be paid, then he might be the next high paid victim of Pacquiao. As long as Marquez thinks he will be Pacquiao’s next opponent, he will either remain inactive or cherry pick some tomato can at the Lightweight division.
If Marquez grows a pair of balls and come out of his hiding hole to fight Brandon Rios, he will definitely get a fight with Pacquiao if he beats Rios convincingly. A win over Rios would fuel the PPV fire for a third Marquez/Pacquiao fight.
Sad to say that a Rios vs Marquez fight will never happen. Marquez knows it, I know it, and Rios knows that Marquez cannot beat Rios. Brandon Rios has already called out Marquez, so far all I hear from Marquez is cluck, cluck, cluck; no Mexican Warrior there.
The silence coming from Marquez when Rios called him out is deafening. Come on, Marquez fans, tell your boy to fight someone worthy. I thought Marquez takes on the best and the young up and coming stars who are hungry. Marquez was about to fight the remains of Erik Morales, but a lot of negative press about it nixed that fight.
By now everyone knows that Marquez is crossing his fingers for a third fight against Manny Pacquiao. The fight is going to happen in the Welterweight division if it comes to fruition. I have always contended that Marquez is a waste case outside of the Lightweight division. He avoids the Jr. Welterweight division like the plague, and is totally horrified to even try a top 10 foe at the Welterweight division. How do I know this? If he had any confidence to take on anyone successfully outside the Lightweight division he would have fought one a long time ago. Marquez is hiding himself at the Lightweight division. But he can no longer hide there safely.
The newly crowned Brandon Rios is calling Marquez out. Rios said that he “would love to fight Marquez.” So what is Marquez’s response? Marquez is buried so far deep into his hiding hole that there is no response from him.
A Brandon Rios vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight is not going to happen, simple as that. The fight is a high risk/high reward for Marquez. But Marquez is not into high risk fights these days. He was about to take on a low risk/low reward fight against Erik Morales. Marquez is now shopping for a tomato can at your nearest local gym. Brandon Rios is on Marquez’s tail sniffing him out.
I would apologize profusely to Marquez if he proves me wrong. I highly doubt that will ever happen. Marquez will prove me right again. Wait, listen! I hear . . . . well . . . I hear nothing! Has anyone seen Marquez lately? There is someone by the name of Brandon Rios looking for him. Hey, Brandon, go to aisle 7 where it is marked “Tomatoes and Stiffs;” I saw Marquez there a while ago.
