I just love boxing so much that anytime someone positive and exciting gets bashed it ticks me off, it’s hate I can’t stand and they can lie all they want but a lot of so called “True Boxing Fans” who always take shots at Pacman never attack anyone else but Manny Pacquiao when it comes to legacy.
We all know they are Floyd Mayweather fans or Pacquiao haters in disguise. They like throwing out that they are boxing fans and not fans of any one fighter, which is hard to believe because like any other sport people have their favorite teams, and favorite players, and in boxing you will have fighters that you know you love watching but even if you don’t admit it openly you will gravitate toward them more.
I am not going to lie, I love watching Manny Pacquiao fight, he could fight anyone and I will watch, that is how exciting he is to me. It reminds me of when Mike Tyson used to fight, how he fought C and D class boxers on TV and pay per view, and people still tuned in and watched his fights. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand has a greater legacy and has fought better fighters than Tyson, yet, the Pacquiao detractors still nitpick at his legacy and fights. No matter what he does, they will find a reason to discredit him.
If Timothy Bradley, Andre Berto, or Juan Manuel Marquez fought Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Shane Mosley, they wouldn’t be complaining, those boxers get a pass but not Manny Pacquiao because Manny isn’t fighting someone that has a secure advantage over Manny, Sergio Martinez at 154 for example, and even then if Pacman somehow beats Martinez they will say it was a fluke Martinez couldn’t make 154 pounds.
If Pacquiao didn’t fight Mosley, I could hear it already, “Manny Pacquiao was ducking old Shane Mosley!” They will discredit him at any chance they get, if he beat Andre Berto, “Berto was too green and had no chin,” if he loses to Berto, “Manny was exposed, he couldn’t handle a slick black fighter,” if Pacquiao beats Shane Mosley, “So what? Manny just beat up a drained corpse that Mayweather beat first,” and if Pacquiao loses to Mosley, “Manny was exposed, he couldn’t handle a slick black fighter who was past his prime.”
How come Juan Manuel Marquez can fight tailor made fighters and go to war with them getting rocked, and dropped but no one discredits him, saying he is a bum or over hyped because he struggled with some B and C class lightweight fighters?
The most annoying and biased remarks are how they bring up Juan Manuel Marquez two fights with Manny Pacquiao, both fights were close and controversial but somehow they don’t mention Manny dropping Marquez a total for 4 times, instead they mention how Marquez out boxed Manny and how Marquez hurt Pacman a few times with right hands and left hooks.
If Manny was the guy who struggled to beat 3 lightweights and got dropped by Marquez 4 times but out boxed him they would never give Manny credit, they would say Manny gets hit way to much and got lucky in all those fights, but Marquez is greater than Manny for going to war with tailor made fighters and getting dropped by B and C class fighters and coming back to stop them….typical hypocritical Pacquiao hater logic.
Pacquiao has been dominating bigger guys, but they are not impressed, the detractors are saying these fighters have no pulse or they are dead and washed up. What a load of BULL! Keep on hating because no matter what you think Manny Pacquiao is going down as one of the greatest to ever lace up the gloves.
