Shane Mosley is going to be 40 years old soon but can he pull a Bernard Hopkins and turn back the hands of time and beat up a younger fighter like Manny Pacquiao? I believe he has a shot.
If you followed the press tour to help hype up the May 7th Pacquiao vs. Mosley PPV covered by Showtime/CBS, you can see that Manny Pacquiao is taking Shane Mosley lightly.
Pacquiao is living the good life and he is laughing and smiling like Mosley is gonna be a walk in the park for him on May 7th, even though, I didn’t like this match up at first, the more I think about it, the more I feel Shane Mosley has a chance.
If Manny Pacquiao got touched up and hit hard to the body by Antonio Margarito with his slow hands, Shane Mosley’s hand speed and power would give Manny some serious problems.
I can’t think of a boxer in all of Manny Pacquiao’s career that had the hand speed, movement, and punching power of Sugar Shane. Manny isn’t a defensive wizard or great slick boxer like Floyd Mayweather Jr., so Shane don’t have to worry about finding Pacquiao because he will be right infront of Shane to be hit. Shane can beat fighters who aren’t very smart, he does well against brawlers who go balls to the wall, because they can’t handle his punching power and strength.
Nobody that Manny fought hit as hard as Sugar Shane Mosley, was as fast as Shane or could move like Shane.
I am saving my prediction until I see the Fight Camp 360 on CBS and see how each fighter is training and how they look in camp. I know HBO 24/7 played off of the Pacquiao being distracted, but he came into the Margarito fight looking slower and sloppier than before, so maybe the distractions of politics did play a part.
One thing is for sure, Shane Mosley is beaming with confidence, he is already bragging about how small Manny is compared to him, that shows me he is hungry to pull off the upset and has no fear of Pacquiao’s over hyped punching power. Mosley is so confident that Manny can’t hurt him and he will hurt Manny that I just can’t go against a brother like Mosley with that type of confidence. I hope he doesn’t let us down this time and trains hard with upset on his mind.
