Many people heard Jean Pascal call Bernard Hopkins “a cheater” numerous times at the Hopkins vs. Pascal press conference. Jean Pascal demanded Bernard Hopkins take random blood testing. Suggesting Bernard Hopkins is on performance enhancement drugs because BHOP is still performing at a high level considering his age, 46 years old. Also in addition, Jean Pascal pointed out BHOP is being trained by Naazim Richardson who is also training former Balco client and steroid user Shane Mosley. Pascal is trying to point a finger at BHOP that he is on PEDs since he is directly associated with “Sugar” Shane Mosley and brother Naazim Richardson.
It is quite obvious Jean Pascal is trying to be cutesy by making tongue and cheek innuendo that Naazim Richardson is also “questionable”. Naazim Richardson’s character is in question due to training Shane Mosley. But Pascal is not the brightest fellow in the world. When Shane was a client of Balco, he was being trained by his father Jack Mosley back in 2003 and to add, Daryl Hudson was his strength and conditioning coach. Naazim didn’t come into picture until way later. Way after Shane confessed he unknowingly took steroids from Balco. Just because Naazim is training Shane automatically makes Naazim a dirty trainer? Would that befall on Nonito Donaire’s trainer Robert Garcia too? Donaire’s strength and conditioning coach is none other than infamous Balco founder Victor Conte. So by association, will Robert Garcia feel the wrath of PED or steroid accusations as well?
This is the danger of baseless accusations. Finger pointing and paranoia running rampant. So what does Manny Pacquiao have to do with this? Plenty. Now we all know, Manny has never failed a single drug test and has never been linked to using HGH, EPO, Steroids, A Side Meth, Power Pellets or any illegal substances, but they (Floyd fans mostly) continue to call Manny Pacquiao – PACROID. Even with concrete evidence Manny is clean. Also we all know Floyd Mayweather demanded Manny to undergo OSDT (Olympic Style Drug Testing) to prove he is clean and the fight will happen. Of course The Superstar will just simply remind everyone Manny has agreed to Floyd’s demand of OSDT but that wasn’t enough to make Floyd go into hiding…again.
But what if Manny did take that OSDT and passed with “flying colors”? Would that stop the critics more exact, Floyd fans to stop using the name Pacroid? NO IT WON’T! Jean Pascal proved it. Pascal clearly accused BHOP of taking PEDs mainly due to his association with “Sugar” Shane Mosley. Shane Mosley fought Floyd “you take the blood test we got a fight” Mayweather back in early May of 2010. Both took the OSDT and both passed. It is safe to assume that it will end any notions or accusations Shane is no longer dirty since he has taken OSDT and more importantly, PASSED. It didn’t, Jean Pascal proved it. Pascal’s harsh comments towards Bernard Hopkins and Shane, show he still believes Shane is still dirty. Shane who has passed the vaunted OSDT, is still thought of as “dirty” by Pascal. What does that tell you? Even if Manny Pacquiao takes OSDT and passes, it is safe to conclude it will not be enough for critics mainly Floyd fans to stop referring to Manny Pacquiao as Pacroid. In truth, The Superstar believes they will continue to concoct excuses by saying Manny Pacquiao was able to beat the test or he has already benefit from years of steroid/PED use. The name Pacroid will never leave the lips to all Floyd fans and other Pacquiao critics. If they don ‘t believe The Superstar, just listen to Jean Pascal.
