That’s what I like about Manny Pacquiao, he fights anyone his promoter puts in front of him.
A lot of fighters today like Floyd Mayweather Jr. for example like to pick and choose their fights. Floyd Mayweather likes to pick fights with style match-ups that suit him.
Manny Pacquiao, will fight anyone, he is the best type of fighter to do business with because he doesn’t make things difficult for his promoter Bob Arum or his trainer Freddie Roach.
If Freddie Roach and Bob Arum told Manny that they want him to fight Sergio Martinez at 154-pounds, Manny would agree with it and say “okay, let’s get ready coach.”
Manny is just doing his job in the ring, he doesn’t really care who he fights, he lets his team decide and he just trains hard and prepares for his opponent.
How can anyone hate a guy like Manny Pacquiao? There should be more guys like him to help boxing continue to grow. Imagine if the heavyweight division had a fighter like Manny Pacquiao, a fighter who comes to fight, wants to entertain the crowd, goes for the finish and isn’t content on winning a fight on points.
Some Pacquiao haters want to say that only Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a special fighter and they put Manny Pacquiao down like he is some type of Amateur boxer with no skills, but the truth is, Pacquiao is also a special fighter that we seldom see in boxing.
I’ve been watching boxing for a while and I’ve seen fighters with Floyd Mayweather’s style, it is nothing new to boxing, it’s just that his style is no longer practiced so it makes it harder for new boxers today to beat him because they are not used to that style since nobody really uses it anymore.
Floyd uses the old school shoulder roll style that many of the olden time fighters used like Nicolino Locche (Video below) and Locche is actually slicker than Floyd when it comes to the style.
but the style had died out and only James Toney and Floyd Mayweather still use it. Manny Pacquiao uses his own style, a style that no one else can copy or mimic, a style that is all his own.
That is what makes Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao so special, he has a style all his own; he fights anyone his promoter and trainer put in front of him and he still fights with the hunger of a starving young fighter. I say watch him while you can because stars like this don’t come around that often.
