Agreement Aligns Corona Extra with ESPN’s Spanish and English-language Boxing Content Across Platforms
ESPN and Corona Extra, one of the most popular beers in the world, announced today a multimedia sponsorship agreement that aligns Corona Extra with ESPN’s Spanish and English-language boxing content across platforms; highlighted by the presenting sponsorship of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights studio telecasts on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
Corona Extra will be integrated across multiple platforms. The agreement includes fight telecast sponsorship, English and Spanish language in-ring exposure, digital and print exposure, and on-site activations. Television exposure includes presenting sponsorship of ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes telecasts of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights, on-air features during both shows, and sponsorship of ESPN Deportes’ Golpe a Golpe, the network’s weekly boxing studio show co-hosted by boxing champion Juan Manuel Marquez and Jorge Eduardo Sanchez. Corona Extra will also receive in-ring exposure, including on-site signage on the center ring mat with their logo on all ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes telecasts.
In addition, Corona Extra will receive special features during ESPN Deportes Radio’s top shows including the all-sports show Zone ESPN, and the boxing news and information show A Los Golpes.
As part of the agreement, ESPN Deportes will execute an onsite edition of Golpe a Golpe for consumers and fans live on location twice a year in different markets, with a co-branded studio set. The deal also includes digital extensions on ESPN3.com and ESPNdeportes.com.
