If some of you boxing fans watched the Shaq vs. show on ABC, you might remember when NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal went against Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Shane Mosley in exhibition boxing matches.
Both times Shaq was coached by Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and both times Shaq lost.
But if you remember the Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Shaquille O’Neal fight, you will see that Mosley went 5 rounds with Shaq and held his own by winning in the exchanges, he even took flush shots from the 7 foot 300 pound center and was able to land heavy punches on Shaq’s chin.
The fight was intense! It wasn’t some type of soft sparring session both guys went all out and this was after Mosley lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr., but if you notice in the fight, Shaq tried to bully Mosley on the ropes and trade with him but Mosley was able to land sneak right hands on Shaq.
If Manny Pacquiao tries to trade with Shane, it could be an early night for the Filipino champion, I give all credit to Manny for taking this fight and I know he will give his all against Mosley, but I just don’t see him beating Shane Mosley even if Mosley is past it at 40 years old, he still has the speed, power and chin advantage against the Pacman.
If Manny Pacquiao is able to take Mosley’s best punches, win in the exchanges and even drop or KO Mosley, I will give him full credit for his win! But I just can’t see it happening, I don’t see Manny having enough power to even gain Shane’s respect.
If a 300 pound Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t hurt Shane Mosley, how can Manny Pacquiao at 147-pounds hurt him?
