Saturday April 9, live on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV, Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions presents: Marcos Maidana vs. Erik Morales “Action Heroes”.
Golden Boy Promotions has put together an outstanding pay-per-view card with match ups that they believe will give fight fans the most bang for their buck.
The main event is a comeback fight, Erik Morales a Mexican boxing legend and the last man to defeat the current pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, will take on his toughest test since announcing his comeback last year, when he faces the dangerous heavy handed Marcos “Chino” Maidana of Argentina.
What makes the fight extra special is the what if factor, if Morales can some how turn back the hands of time and beat a prime top 140-pounder for his fourth world title in 4 different weight divisions he will not only make history as the first Mexican to win 4 weight division titles, but he will also go down in boxing history with one of the greatest comebacks ever.
Also on the card is an awesome lightweight bout between two top level 135-pound fighters, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and Australian brawler Michael “The Great” Katsidis.
Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi will fight the brother of his former opponent Miguel Cotto, Jose Miguel Cotto, and exciting junior welterweight contender, James Kirkland, will return on the card.
