On HBO Saturday May 21, Bernard Hopkins will step into the ring at 46-years-old to challenge the current WBC light heavyweight champion 28-year-old Jean Pascal in an anticipated rematch and a possible history making event, because if Hopkins wins the title he would surpass former heavyweight champion George Foreman as the oldest boxer to ever win a world title — Foreman won the title in 1994 at the age of 45 when he knocked out Michael Moorer.
Jean Pascal and Bernard Hopkins fought to a controversial draw in December of 2010, many observers felt that Hopkins was able to edge out a victory despite being knocked down in rounds 1 and 3, but Pascal was given a gift Draw in his home turf of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The rematch will take place at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Hopkins plans on winning the fight in a more decisive fashion this time around.
Also on the HBO televised broadcast will be a fight between former WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson of the USA and Canada’s Adrian Diaconu, both fighters lost to Jean Pascal and are in a make or break fight tonight.
