On Saturday night, future Hall of Famer Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38 K0’s) will take on southpaw Likar Ramos (24-3, 18 KO’s) in a tune-up fight to help prepare him for his third match with Filipino boxing legend Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao coming up in November.
Marquez will fight Likar Ramos in a 10-round bout contested at the junior welterweight division and his fight with Pacquiao will be at a catchweight of 144-pounds. Marquez feels that a tune-up fight against a southpaw is a must in order for him to get prepared for Pacquiao’s lefty style.
Juan Marquez vs. Likar Ramos will also feature Juan’s younger brother Rafael Marquez on the card and will be televised live from Plaza de Toros in Cancún, México, on TV Azteca and online at www.toprank.tv, beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, July, 16, 2011.
The Free Top Rank internet stream for Marquez-Ramos will be available only to the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Philippines will be able to watch the fight on TV5 and Aksyon TV.
