Andre Berto (27-1-21 KO’s) is looking to bounce back after suffering his first loss to Victor Ortiz and his opponent will be against the current IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck (31-1-18 KO’s). Berto added a new member to his team in hopes of improving his strength and conditioning, that member is Victor Conte of SNAC.
Victor Conte has been working with Andre Berto for a couple of months to get him in tip top shape for his fight with Zaveck, Conte has become one of the most sought out nutritionist among boxers. He is a key member of champion Nonito Donaire’s team, he has worked with Zab Judah, and Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward to name a few. Jan Zaveck is a little known fighter from Slovena who has held the IBF welterweight title since 2009 and is making his United States boxing debut on September 3rd. Zaveck hopes to pull of a big win against Berto and placing himself in the mix against the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
Before the main event, HBO will televise an undercard fight between America’s most talented boxing prospect in years, Gary Russell Jr. (17-0-10 KO’s) vs. tough Mexican southpaw Leonilo “Veneno” Miranda (32-3-30 KO’s).
