Boxing’s biggest star Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr.(41-0, 25 KOs) will take on twenty-four-year-old WBC welterweight champion “Vicious” Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs) on HBO Pay-per-view Saturday night, Sept. 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Mayweather vs. Ortiz will be the biggest boxing event of 2011, featuring a star studded cast on the undercard: junior welterweight bout Jessie Vargas vs. Josesito Lopez, Mexican boxing legend and the last man to defeat Manny Pacquiao, Erik “El Terrible” Morales vs. Pablo Cesar Cano for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title, and live from the STAPLES Center in Downtown, Los Angeles, young Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. former Contender reality TV star Alfonso Gomez for Canelo’s WBC junior middleweight belt.
