If a congressman in the United States were to bully and humiliate their assistants by slapping them, spitting in their faces, and physically intimidated them that congressman would be all over the news and there would be a controversy concerning his demeanor in office. Imagine if an American congressman was grabbing his assistant and slapped them in their face or pulled their pants down in front of a large audience of people just to humiliate them during a morning jog or show a loaded gun and dangerously twirl it in the backseat of a car where if it goes off it can kill or wound others in the car? That politician would be forced to resign just for that type of behavior and it would be looked at as shockingly unacceptable. Congressman Manny Pacquiao has done all of the above.
Manny Pacquiao is not only a boxer but he is also a congressman in the Philippines and from videos on YouTube of him during training camp he doesn’t carry himself like a politician of upstanding behavior instead he looks more like a schoolyard bully.
Being a Filipino who now resides in the United States, I always have to hear the negative comments from Filipino-Americans about Philippines politics being a joke, corrupt and very disorganized, now when you see a world figure like Manny Pacquiao as a congressman and acting like a high school bully to the people around him like Alex Ariza, Buboy and others, it makes those comments look justified in turn making the Filipino political system look bad. It makes me wonder how did this person get into office?
Recent video of Manny physically intimidating and slapping one of his entourage
If Manny wants to be taken serious as a public servant and cares about the people, he needs to act like a grown up and a role model at all times. Kids can see him using physical intimidation and feel it’s ok to bully their friends because congressman Pacquiao does it. I don’t know about others, but I do not treat my friends or the people around me this way. I will never physically slap them or joke around like this because it shows no class and abuse of power.
For Manny Pacquiao he has a responsibility to lead by example, and as a congressmen he should know better. Where are his advisers? The advisers are not doing their job because their duty is to protect Manny Pacquiao’s public image and allowing Manny to act like a bully on camera is not protecting it.
