HBO Boxing After Dark presents a dual site world championship double header featuring a WBC junior middleweight title fight between champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Kermit Cintron and WBO super featherweight vacant championship bout between Adrien Broner and Vicente Rodriguez.
Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez, 21, will defend his WBC junior middleweight title for the third time against the tough 32-year-old Puerto Rican-American boxer Kermit Cintron. Canelo is taking a big step up with Cintron and should he beat him he has many lucrative fights on the table including a super-fight between fellow Mexican boxing star Julio Cesar Chavez Jr..
Adrien Broner is an undefeated 22-year-old boxer from Cincinnati, Ohio and he will be fighting for his first title, the vacant WBO super featherweight belt against veteran boxer Vicente Rodriguez of Argentina. The talented Broner is considered by many boxing analysts to be the next potential big American boxing star.
The main event Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (38-0-1, 28 KOs) vs. Kermit “The Killer” Cintron (33-4-1, 28 KOs) will be fought in Mexico at the Monumental Plaza de Toros and the co-main event Adrien Broner (21-0, 17 KOs) Vicente Rodriguez (34-2-1, 19 KOs) will be fought at the U.S. Bank Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio.
