The son of hall of fame Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez returns to the ring on November 19 to defend his WBC middleweight championship against the tough veteran Peter Manfredo Jr. on HBO Boxing After Dark.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44–0-1 (30 KO) is undefeated and trains with top boxing trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card boxing club in Hollywood alongside fellow champions Welterweight Manny Pacquiao and Junior-Welterweight Amir Khan. Peter Manfredo Jr. (37–6-0 (20 KO) was a star on the boxing reality series show “The Contender” and after the series he briefly trained under Freddie Roach and went on a nice winning streak until he lost to super-middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe in the third round by TKO. Manfredo is the underdog going into the fight.
Also apart of the card will be the rebroadcast of last weeks Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez III Pay-per-view fight which ended in a close but controversial decision. Marquez believes he was robbed and Manny Pacquiao felt he won, watch the replay of Pacquiao vs. Marquez III and judge for yourself.
