This is a response to Eddie Pullman. In reading your article, “Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Give The Paying Fans The Fight They Want To See” I was initially fooled into thinking it was an unbiased piece, I was wrong! You & many other Manny Pacquiao fans or Floyd Mayweather haters seem to blame only Floyd for the mega fight not happening. My question to you is if Manny is “clean” then why not take the test? What does he have to lose?
It’s true that Manny Pacquiao has never flunked a drug test, but neither has Barry Bonds. I even heard Marion Jones make the same claims that she never used steroids, before admitting guilt and going to prison. Not failing a test does not always mean you did not cheat, sometimes it means the type of testing hasn’t caught up to the methods of beating the test.
Remember Bonds, Jones as well as Evander Holyfield & Shane Mosley where busted not by testing but by the BALCO raid and investigations. Antonio Margarito had not been busted for illegal hand wraps until the Mosely fight, do you think that was his first time cheating? All I am saying is people cheat to gain an edge, Muhammad Ali & Joe Frazier weren’t fighting in the Steroid era of sports.
Pacquiao, Mayweather, Margarito, Holyfield, and Mosley did. I say yeah check the hand wraps more closely, do Olympic style drug testing, what will it hurt? It doesn’t hurt the Olympians so how does it hurt the boxers who take punches for a living and bleed in fights?
Manny Pacquiao step up to the test! Lets see a good clean fight! May 5th Floyd Mayweather is waiting …
