Manny Pacquiao is already shot to pieces and on the decline.
When you are an aggressive fighter with no defensive skills and relies mainly on speed and aggression, your boxing career will not last very long, and Juan Manuel Marquez showed us what happens to a guy who is one dimensional and doesn’t have much of a boxing brain when he put on a boxing clinic on the supposed pound-4-pound king Manny Pacquiao and got robbed.
Everyone thought this 38-year-old Marquez was going to lose to the Pacman because of how he looked against Floyd Mayweather Jr. but people didn’t realize that Manny Pacquiao was already on the decline. A fighter who can no longer pull the trigger or no longer has their peak physical strengths such as speed and reflexes is a shot fighter.
Pacquiao first started deteriorating badly against Antonio Margarito and continued to fade versus Shane Mosley, Pacman no longer had that blistering foot speed, his lack of boxing skills showed when he couldn’t catch or cut off the ring against a non-offensive faded legend. I predict that Manny Pacquiao is going to get beat up badly in his next fight because after his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez boxers are no longer scared of him, they have no more fear of Pacquiao because his aura is gone and they have the blueprint to defeat him.
There will be no Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, not because Floyd is doing time in jail, but because Bob Arum is going to let Manny fight another opponent instead of cashing him out against Floyd. Whoever fights Manny Pacquiao next will defeat him. Lamont Peterson, Tim Bradley, a rematch with Miguel Cotto, a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, in all of those fights Pacquiao will lose because no opponent fears him anymore and they know he is declined and has no boxing skills.
I say this because I know all too clear the signs of a fighter who no longer has it in them anymore. Manny Pacquiao’s shining boxing career is about to come to an end, he will no longer be remembered as a hot boxing star, people will forget about him like they do to all the former boxing stars, he will no longer have big name sponsors like NIKE or Hollywood celebrities visiting him, and the Filipino fans in his country will quickly hop off his bandwagon when he starts to lose.
Manny’s financial situation will force him to fight well past his prime and into the twilight years well into his 40’s. He will be fighting in smaller venues on Mexican TV or back in the Philippines. Pacquiao better learn how to save his money because continued fame and riches are not a guarantee and can be taken away from you in the blink of an eye.
