Top Rank and HBO present Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito II. The fight takes place at Madison Square Garden, Manhattan, New York on December 3, 2011.
On Saturday night fight fans will be treated to another great boxing rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico. Miguel Cotto represents Puerto Rico and Antonio Margarito represents Mexico the two have passionate fan followings and met before in 2008 in a fight that has a black cloud all over it. Leading up to this fight their have been words thrown out by Miguel Cotto accusing Margarito of cheating with loaded handwraps when they first fought and his loss to Antonio was not legit. The Cotto vs. Margarito fight almost didn’t push through because of an eye injury that Margarito suffered at the hands of Manny Pacquiao in 2010 but Margarito was cleared last minute by the NYSAC to fight. For Cotto this fight is to avenge what he believes was a wrong, and for Margarito this fight is to prove to the people and to Cotto that he beat him legitimately.
