Tonight on the Showtime boxing series ShoBox: The New Generation, a special edition will feature the returns of former boxing standouts Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrell as well as a light heavyweight match up between two undefeated prospects Luis Garcia (11-0, 9 KOs) vs. Alexander Johnson (12-0, 5 KOs).
Former middleweight champion Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor (28-4-1, 17 KOs) hasn’t boxed since his retirement from boxing 26 months ago after suffering a string of devastating knockout defeats to Kelly Pavlik, Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham, this will be his first fight back and his return to the middleweight division after campaigning at super-middleweight. Taylor will take on Jesse Nicklow (22-2-3, 8 KOs) in a tune up fight to determine if he still has what it takes to slowly climb his way back to title contention in the middleweight division.
Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13 KOs) hasn’t fought since 2010 when he suffered a late hit by Arthur Abraham in a Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament that caused him some neurological problems forcing him to pull out of the tournament. Andre Dirrell will be fighting Darryl Cunningham (24-2, 10 KOs) in a 10-round super-middleweight bout.
