The Ultimate Fighting Championship kicks off Super Bowl weekend from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada with an explosive mixed martial arts Pay-Per-View main event for the Interim Welterweight Title and a loaded undercard with exciting match-ups.
The main event for UFC 143 was originally supposed to be between champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz, but due to an ACL injury that forced St-Pierre off of the card and into the surgery room, Diaz was given a new opponent in Carlos Condit. Due to St-Pierre’s inactivity from the injury, UFC President Dana White made it official that Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit will be for the Interim Welterweight Title, and the winner would fight Georges St-Pierre depending on his recovery.
